Just finished a bottle of wine looking over the bay, perfect. The room is very clean and the people are lovely.!
CUTE CUTE CUTE place BUT.... Loved it other than the bugs in our room. The lady running it didn't care and was so dismissive.. we will not be back again. They were in our bed too. And not a few.. a lot. When she came to the room she says "they nothing.. blackflies' and flicked it on the floor and walked out. Trust me, go to another hotel that cares about your concerns. I could have lived with the bugs, but the dismissive dis concern.. I cannot.
My family and I traveled Nova Scotia for 9 days and this was the lowest point of our vacation. The location was good.... close to the ferry, can walk into town, and on the water. However, the woman who checked us in was extremely rude. I asked for a cot, and apparently it was a big deal. Then, as I was checking in, she actually scolded me for calling only 2 days out to request a cot. The morning we were leaving , she was rude to my 2 children asking them " are your bags packed and are you on your way out? " I know this can be read many different ways.... but in this case the tone was that she wanted us out of there. Every other person in the hospitality business we came across was great, this woman was just not nice to us.
I've been in fancier places. But this Motel has gone all out to anticipate every need. We have rags to use on our vehicle, we have a clothesline in the bathroom, they have placed the chalets going down the long side of this long piece of property so that the foot, which is on the beach, is accessible to all. They've built a patio on the rocks with enclosed glass panels to block the wind and watch the boats come in and out of the harbor. The only thing to be mindful of is that this is pet friendly, so if you're allergic to dogs you might have some allergies in the room. All was clean and there was breakfast in the refrigerator! Exceeded my expectations for sure.
