The hosts were wonderful friendly and very helpful. Breakfast was hot and the cook did the eggs just right. The presentation was excellent. The rooms are all you need the view is to die for. Highly recommended this place. You can also walk to the main part of town were the food at the wheel house is great. Love this place.
Of the 14 accommodations we had during our two-week vacation in the maritimes, this was by far, the worst! First off, before we even saw the room, the owner wanted to be paid and I might add, over-priced at almost $150 per night (compared with other accommodations we had, which were far nicer and cleaner). When we got to the room (on the front side of the building) we were sadly disappointed. While the 1904-house looks relatively nice from the outside, the bedroom was very small and instantly, after looking at the wrinkled, thin, stained carpet, we could see that it hadn't been shampooed in ages. Then, we entered the closet-sized bathroom and were hit by a strong urine smell. This confirmed to us that there was a general lack of sanitation and cleanliness throughout the B & B. We contacted the owner, who came up and said she couldn't smell anything. She said she doesn't normally clean them but got the bucket and soap and tried to clean it. That didn't help because it still smelled after she left. It was either urine or mold, but in any case, smelled strongly and terribly. The screen on the window was torn open and hanging on a couple of the corners, while another window had no screen. It was close to 30 degrees and we wanted fresh air. All the windows were filthy and badly smudged. The entire place felt like the owners were in it for the dollars and weren't concerned at all about the condition or cleanliness of the rooms or common areas. Needless to say, we weren't about to risk having breakfast in the morning (I have no idea what the kitchen might have looked like or how clean it was), so we left thoroughly disgusted with our experience at the Come Far Away B & B Inn!
Great B&B. Fabulous views from our Crows Nest room. Big room with large bathroom and private deck. Walking distance from everything in Digby. Barb makes a lovely breakfast. 7 minute drive to Halifax ferry.
Excellent room, even better view. The only thing that was missing was a gluten free option for breakfast. Otherwise great !
Excellent hospitality. Rooms are very clean and well kept. Right on the water for excellent views.
